Section 5: Mirror Removal
22. Start the vehicle and note location of
compass display. Remove the connector from
mirror (Figure 14).

23. If the compass display on the dash
shows (- -) the compass module must be
relocated. This operation is described in
Section 7.
24. Loosen the screw that attaches the existing
rear view mirror to the windshield mounting
button with a T20 Torx driver (Figure 15).
CAUTION: Removing the mirror from the
windshield can cause damage to the
windshield. It is highly recommended
to contact either a Ford dealership or
a windshield replacement company.
Otherwise, slide the mirror upwards and
towards the rear to remove it from the
windshield (Figure 15).

NOTE: On some models without screws,
Mirror Removal Tool # OTC8200 is
required.
