The Ping option allows you to test if an end device can be reached from
the PowerBlade PBC18. It sends an Internet Control Message Protocol
(ICMP) echo request. If the end device is connected to the same subnet
and is operating, it sends a reply back to the requesting chassis.
To ping a remote system, perform the following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, select Administration.
The Administration Menu is displayed.
2. Select Ping a remote system. The following screen is displayed.
3. Enter the IP address or MAC address of the end-node you want to
ping.
4. Press
The Omega interface activates the Activity Monitor screen. This
screen reports the results of the ping command.
A ping command performed from a local or remote Omega session
continues until you press any key to stop it.
5. Return to the Main Menu.
Please enter station to ping:
The system may be identified by name (‘name’), by IP
address (xxx.x.x.x), or by Ethernet address (000000
000000).
Note: Ping will repeat until a key is hit
