Creating a Samsung Account
An active Samsung account is required to begin accessing
applications such as ChatON and Samsung Link.
1. If you have no Samsung account, touch Create new
account.
– or –
If you do have a Samsung account, touch Sign in.
The Samsung account screen displays.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to create and
activate your account.
If you would rather not create a Samsung account during
phone set-up:
� Touch Skip.
For more information, refer to “Signing In to Your Samsung
Account” on page 205.
Google and Your Location
The Google & location screen displays next.
1. Read the information on the screen and enable either
or all of the Google location services.
2. Touch to continue.
TouchWiz Easy Home
Before the Home screen is displayed, you are given the
opportunity to begin using your phone with TouchWiz Easy
Home or TouchWiz Home.
TouchWiz Easy Home is an easier user experience for first-
time smartphone users on the home screens.
TouchWiz Home is the standard mode of operation, which
uses a conventional layout for the apps and widgets on your
home screens.
� Touch TouchWiz Easy Home to activate the easy Home
screen mode.

Touch TouchWiz Home to activate the standard Home
screen mode.
