Tethering and Portable Hotspot
Use this option to share your phones’s mobile data
connection with a portable Wi-Fi hotspot or USB tethering.
Mobile Hotspot
Note: To enable Mobile Hotspot on your phone, dial 611 or go
to set up the service.
1. From a Home screen, touch
Apps ➔
Mobile Hotspot
.

From the Settings screen, touch
Connections ➔
More networks ➔ Tethering and portable hotspots ➔
Mobile Hotspot.
The Mobile Hotspot screen displays.

2. Touch the OFF/ON button at the top of the screen to turn
Mobile Hotspot ON

Note: When enabled, the Mobile Hotspot icon
displays in
the Notification Bar.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to use Mobile
Hotspot.
Connecting to Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot from Other
Devices
1. Activate Wi-Fi on the device that wants to connect to
your phone.
2. Find [Galaxy_Note_II_xxxx] in the Wi-Fi network list and
connect to it. xxxx will be four randomly generated
digits that appear when you set up a Portable Wi-Fi
hotspot on your device.
The connected device can now use internet through
your Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
Note: Activating Wi-Fi and connecting to your phone will be
different depending on the type of the other device.
