6 Troubleshooting
If you have a problem with the Remote Web Console, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web
Console User’s Guide for troubleshooting information. If a Business Copy error code or message is
displayed on the Remote Web Console, see “
” on page 91 for a description of
the Business Copy error codes and recommended corrective action.
General Troubleshooting
on page 91 provides general troubleshooting instructions for Business Copy operations.

The Remote Web Console computer
hangs, or Business Copy operations do
not function properly.
Make sure all Business Copy requirements and restrictions
are met.
Make sure the storage system is powered on and fully
functional. See the HP StorageWorks XP24000 Disk
Array Owner’s Guide for operational and troubleshooting
information for the storage system.
Check all input values and parameters to make sure that
you entered the correct information on the Business Copy
windows (for example, P-VOL and S-VOL IDs).
The volume pairs are not displaying
correctly.
Make sure the correct CU image is selected.
A Business Copy error message is
displayed on the Remote Web Console.
Remote Web Console displays an error message if an error
occurs during Business Copy operations. The Error dialog
box of Business Copy displays the error code and the
message (see
There is a problem with the Remote Web
Console.
Save the Java log file on the Remote Web Console, and
report to HP technical support.
For Windows 2000, the Java log file is in the following place:
c:\Documents and Settings\login user ID\plugin131.trace
Exit the Web browser, close all other applications, and then
restart the computer. If the problem persists, verify that
the computer’s operating system and LAN hardware and
software are properly configured.
The Business Copy pair status is incorrect
(or unexpected).
The pair may have been suspended or deleted from the
UNIX/PC server host using HP RAID Manager. If not, the
storage system detected an error condition during Business
Copy operations. Check the Remote Web Console error log.
If necessary, call the HP technical support for assistance.
There is a pinned track on a Business
Copy volume.
If a pinned track occurs on a Business Copy P-VOL or S-VOL,
the storage system will suspend the pair. Contact your HP
representative for assistance in recovering pinned tracks.
Only the Exit and Refresh menus are
effective when accessing the SVP from the
Remote Web Console.
The SVP might not be ready or perform some write processes
from the other system. Wait for a while, and then select File
and then Refresh from the window.
The Business Copy software displays error messages on the Remote Web Console computer when
error conditions occur during Business Copy operations. The Business Copy Error dialog box (see
on page 92) displays the Business Copy error code and message.
