Warnings and Precautions
Before beginning the following procedures, be sure you understand the following
warnings:
63
−73 kg
140
−161 lb
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the
equipment:
•
Observe local occupational health and safety requirements and
guidelines for manual material handling.
•
Obtain adequate assistance to lift and stabilize the chassis during
installation or removal.
•
The product will be unstable when not fastened to the rails.
•
Remove all hot-plug power supplies and drives to reduce the
overall weight of the product.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the equipment,
be sure that:
•
The leveling jacks are extended to the floor.
•
The full rack weight rests on the leveling jacks.
•
The stabilizing feet are attached to the rack if it is a single rack installation.
•
The racks are coupled together in multiple rack installations.
•
A rack may become unstable if more than one component is extended for
any reason. Extend only one component at a time.
CAUTION: To maintain optimum cooling, a perforated rack door must be used with
this server. Failure to use a properly ventilated door results in thermal damage to
your server. Compaq branded 7000 series racks require an upgraded door. You can
order a high-airflow perforated door from HP, Part Number [P/N] 327881-B21 for a
42U rack, or Part Number [P/N] 157847-B21 for a 22U rack.
IMPORTANT: To reduce the overall weight of the system, HP recommends that all power
supplies, the I/O module, and the processor and memory module be removed from the server
before loading it onto the rails.
