Installing the Server in a Rack

Shipping Box Contents

Unpack the shipping boxes by following the instructions and illustrations printed on
the outside of the boxes. The shipping boxes contain the following materials:

• ProLiant DL760 G2 server
• Power cords (located inside the country kit box with the documentation box)

NOTE: A 110 VAC power cord is not included. Low line power is not supported by the
server.

• Hardware documentation and software packs (inside the country kit box),

including the ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack, Reference Information, and
Software Products

In addition to these supplied items, you may need the following unsupplied items to
complete the installation:

• Options to be installed, such as expansion boards, monitors, an uninterruptible

power supply (UPS), hard drives, tape drives, processor boards, or additional
memory

• Hardware kit, containing rack rails and the cable management arm
• Application software

Removing the Shipping Safeguards

Refer to the following sections on removing the shipping brackets and screws
installed to protect the server from damage during shipping.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the server, the shipping brackets and shipping
screws must be installed before shipping.
