START & STATUS

ÔGLO LISTEN': This is the most commonly used configuration card for the Global/Mix Bus. It is

plugged into JP-1 when you want this card to listen to a global signal sent from another card
or an external audio signal source. Any number of cards can listen to the same GLOBAL BUS.

The ÔBUS FEEDÕ pot on the front panel of the DR- Repeater card you are configuring

controls how ÔhotÕ a signal is picked up from the GLOBAL BUS by this card. It can be adjusted to
set the level of the GLOBAL BUS input relative to all the other inputs to this card (Digital Audio
Repeater and mix inputs, if any).

When used in a simple non-zoned PA application, the preamplifier PA microphone's output

is fed to one of the four Global/Mix Bus lines. The cards which will be responding to this PA
request are configured to listen to this input. The microphone's push-to-talk button is then
wired into one of the start inputs (A or B) on these same repeater cards, which are then
configured to half or full-mute when this input goes active. When the push-to-talk button on
the microphone is depressed, the normal audio will mute (or half mute), and the microphone's
audio will be fed to the cards' outputs.
