Create Products

Each assay kit can use products that are standards, controls, or both.
Once a product is created, it can be used in multiple assay kits
(templates).

Definitions

Refer to the Glossary in the Luminex 100 IS User Manual Version
2.1
for complete detailed definitions.

Analyte.

Any substance which is detected through assay

analysis.Typically, each bead set represents a single analyte. In this
application, there is one test or bead set associated with an analyte.

Bead Set.

A set of xMAP microspheres that have a uniquely

identifiable ratio of two classification dyes. The unique ratio is
identified by a unique area or region on a Classification 1 versus
Classification 2 Beadmap.

Control.

Used to verify standards. Informs you that the curve or

thresholds are correct. Controls verify only the validity of the results,
they are not used to determine the results.

Note:

Use the Data Collection

Only template if you have your
own data post-processing
program and want to obtain
only fluorescent intensity
results. When using a Data
Collection Only template, skip
the task “Creating Products”.

Note:

For version 2.1 you can

not import different products
into one template. Adding one
product and then another
removes the first replacing it
with the second.
