Once the gear motor has been removed, the grub screw in the
locking rings of the bearing blocks can be loosened. The bearing
blocks can then be removed and slid off of the ends of the shaft.

The shaft with sprocket wheel can then be removed from the end
unit.

Note! The shaft and sprocket are removed as one piece. These
can be replaced as one piece or as individual items. If replaced
as individual items make note of the orientation of the sprocket
wheel on the shaft.
•
Re-fitting is the reverse procedure of the removal.
•
After assembly the Spiral Elevator must be set up (section 5.3.2)
and then test run (section 5.6) to check that all items are
satisfactory.
•
After approval the Spiral Elevator may be put into operation again.
