Aux Relay Analog
When enabled, the Aux analog relay energizes when either the control/alarm high
OR the control/alarm low value is processed by the 5400. Aux relay energizes after
the configured aux hold off time. When alarms are disabled and as long as value
≤ control/alarm low value OR value ≥ control/alarm high value is processed by
the 5400, the relay remains energized including when menus are entered. Relay
de-energizes when a value > control/alarm low value OR value < control/alarm
high value is processed by the 5400 regardless if alarms are enabled. If alarms
are enabled, the relay also de-energizes when one of the four front panel softkeys
is pressed. Pressing one of the softkeys resets the
alarm system. The Alarm system becomes active again if, after the aux hold off
period, the alarm condition still exists.
Aux analog events (event log) are identified by aux number, relay state (on/off), and
report “alarm high” or “alarm low” condition regardless if alarms are enabled.
AquaManager identifies Aux analog events as control or alarm based on node
configuration.

Notes:
Control/alarm high value must be ≤ Max value. Control/alarm low
-
value must be ≥ Min value. Min & Max values are configured in Menus
→ System → Configure Aux →Aux 1-2→Min/Max menu.
Do not enable aux analog alarms when the sensor is in the control/alarm
-
condition. Enabling aux analog alarms when sensor is in control/alarm
condition can result in aux system not properly processing existing alarm
condition.
Conductivity
Menus →Sensor Setup→Conductivity
The conductivity system operates in one of four ranges. The ranges are: 0-200 µS,
0-2000 µS, 0-20mS, and 0-200mS. The conductivity range is automatically deter-
mined based on the readings from the sensor. Conductivity values >10,000 µS are
displayed in mS. See Set Points, Control, and Alarms - page 128 before configuring
conductivity system.
Notes:
When conductivity is enabled, salinity is ALWAYS calculated by the
-
conductivity sensor value. This value is used to calculate the DO mg/L
value. The salinity value is displayed at the Run Screen when salinity is
enabled. See Salinity - page 145.
Disabling conductivity requires that a ppt value be user defined in the
-
5200A DO sensor menu.
5561 probe/cable users should ALWAYS disable the conductivity system
-
since there is no conductivity sensor to accurately compute a salinity
value.
Conductivity set points do not self adjust based on the range of the sensor.
-
See Menu Maps - 194 for default configuration.
Timed and Normal Control
Conductivity high and low control can operate in two different modes, normal or
timed. In the normal mode, control relays are energized until the set point value
is reached. The normal mode can be used for either low control, high control, or
both. For normal control, configure the dose up/dose down to 0. The dwell time
will be ignored.
In the timed mode, an energized control relay is energized for the configured dose
time, regardless if the sensor value has returned to the set point value. After the
dose time expires, the control relay de-energizes for the configured dwell time.
