5. PC Card Configuration
The STS Series has one extra PC card slot for increased expandability. It supports four types of PC
cards:
-
Wireless LAN card
-
Modem card
-
ATA/IDE fixed disk card
The user can allow access via another network connection with either a LAN or wireless LAN card.
The ATA/IDE fixed disk card allows the user the ability to store and carry system and serial port log
data. Using the card slot for a modem card allows the user out-of-band access to the STS Series
without a serial port to connect to an external modem.

To use the PC card slot, the users must complete the following steps.
Step 1. Insert the PC card into the PC card slot.
Step 2. Select
on the PC card configuration menu.
Step 3. The STS Series will use its plug and play functionality to discover the card type.
It will
then display the configuration menu screens. The user can now set card’s operation
parameters.
Step 4. Save the configuration settings by selecting
.
Step 5. Select [Apply changes] from the menu to apply the newly configured settings.
If STS Series fails to discover the PC card, the following error message will be displayed on the menu
screen.
