Bits of interest are described as follows. Four binary bits (a nibble) make up each hex digit

. The leftmost bit in the

first nibble denotes if the link is down or up. “0” means the link is up, “1” means the link is down.

13.4 VLANs

Please refer to section 4.2.8 for some background information on VLANs in general.

The factory default port-based VLAN settings for VES-1000 Series switch are summarized below (see also Figure
13-3)
:

• Port 0 (the CPU management port) forms a VLAN with all VDSL ports and can use the Ethernet port(s) as the

uplink.

• The VDSL ports cannot talk to each other.

• Each VDSL port forms a VLAN with each Ethernet port and vice versa.

13.4.1

VLAN Status Command

sw vlan status

Use this command to view the port-based VLAN settings for all ports.

The factory default port-based VLAN for the VES-1000 Series switch is shown in the next screen.
