Various settings
1.
With the R-1 stopped, press the
MENU button
. You will enter Setup mode.
2.
Turn the
VALUE dial
to select the desired item from the setup menu. Select
04:
Rename File
and then press the
ENTER button
.
* If you decide not to continue, you can press the
EXIT button
or
MENU button
to leave
Setup mode.
3.
Now you can choose the file that you want to rename. Turn the
VALUE dial
to
select the file that you want to rename, and then press the
ENTER button
.
* You will exit Setup mode if you press the
MENU button
.
4.
Use the
PREV
and
NEXT buttons
to move the cursor to a character you want to
change.
* If you press the
MENU button
, you will leave Setup mode.
5.
When you’ve moved the cursor to the location of the character you want to change,
use the
VALUE dial
to select the desired character for that location.

Characters that you can use in a file name
(space) ! # $ % & ‘ ( ) + , - . 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ; = @

File names beginning with “.” are ignored by the R-1.
* You will exit Setup mode if you press the
MENU button
.

Move the cursor to the next location at which you want to change the character.
7.
When you’ve finished making changes to the file name, press the
ENTER button
.
The display will indicate
Completed!
, and then you will automatically return to the
Setup mode screen.
* When you change the name of a file, the playback order will also be affected.

If an identically named file already exists, the
screen shown here will appear. You will need
to specify a different name for the file.
8.
If you’re finished, press the
EXIT button
or the
MENU button
.
If you want to rename another file, press the
ENTER button
. You will return to step
3. If you want to choose another menu item, turn the
VALUE dial
to select it
(instead of pressing the
ENTER button
). To make settings for the menu item you
select, use the appropriate procedure as listed in
“System settings (Setup mode)”
