Make sure the print side of the item faces down. For envelopes, place the flap side of an envelope faceup and on
the left side as shown:
Using the automatic paper type sensor
The printer is equipped with an automatic paper type sensing device. The Paper Type Sensor automatically detects
the type of paper that has been loaded into the printer and adjusts the settings for you. For example, if you want to
print a photo, load photo paper into the printer. The printer detects the type of paper and automatically adjusts the
settings to give you optimum photo-printing results.
Loading the optional Tray 2
You can load Tray 2 with letter-, A4-, or legal-size paper. You can load plain paper, photo or glossy paper, heavyweight
matte paper, transparencies, and card stock in these sizes only.
Note: Do not load any other paper sizes or types into Tray 2. For small paper sizes, use the small media feeder in Tray
1.
1 Pull Tray 2 completely out of the printer.
