Basic Setup Use Basic Setup for the settings required for connecting to the
Internet via a DSL or cable modem. This is described from page 52
on.
Security Setup The Security Setup allows you to take precautions against
unauthorised access to your router and LAN. For example, you can
assign a password and set up encryption for wireless
transmissions. This is described from page 63 on. For the
protection of your network we recommend that you carry out this
setup.
Advanced Setup Advanced Setup provides additional functions. For example, you
can back up and restore your configuration data, set up your
router as a virtual server for your network, and much more. These
configuration steps are optional and can be carried out at a later
stage. This is described from page 70 on.
