In case of a failure at the local site the host at the remote site may recover from the Global
Mirror configuration as discussed in 23.7, “Recovery scenario after primary site failure” on
page 282. Not
e that the host at the remote site requires a disk environment that is
independent from the Global Mirror environment.

All Global Mirror-related management commands may be executed at the respective site.
The local host may execute all commands that address the primary volumes. The remote
host may execute all the commands targeted to the secondary or tertiary volumes. From a
management viewpoint this may not be the preferable approach to managing a Global Mirror
environment.
