Danger to life due to high voltages of the PV modules
When exposed to sunlight, the PV modules generate dangerous DC voltage which is present in
the DC conductors. Touching the DC conductors can lead to lethal electric shocks. If you
disconnect the DC connectors from the inverter under load, an electric arc may occur leading to
electric shock and burns.

• Do not touch uninsulated cable ends.
• Do not touch the DC conductors.
• Do not open the inverter and the Sunny Multigate.
Disconnect the inverter from all voltage sources before performing any work on it (see

Section 9, page 48).

• Before working on the Sunny Multigate, always disconnect it from all voltage sources (see

Section 10, page 50).

• Follow the instructions precisely.
• Observe the warning messages on the inverter and the Sunny Multigate.

Risk of electric shock due to ground fault
If a ground fault occurs, parts of the system may still be live. Touching live components can lead
to lethal electric shocks.

• Prior to touching any components, always disconnect the inverter from all voltage sources as

described in this document (see Section 9, page 48).

• Prior to touching any components, always disconnect the Sunny Multigate from all voltage

sources as described in this document (see Section 10, page 50).

Risk of electric shock due to damaged devices
Operating a damaged inverter or Sunny Multigate can lead to hazardous situations that result in
lethal electric shocks.

• Only operate the inverter and the Sunny Multigate provided that they are in safe and full

working order.

• Regularly check for visible damage.
