) for the following:

Program Output Selection

Any input signal can be forced to the output manually by selecting the

Force

Primary

,

Force Secondary

, or

Force Alternate

buttons. When one of the

Force

buttons is selected, the button is highlighted and the

Manual

mode becomes

the Switch mode selection in the Switching Strategy section.

Switching Strategy

This section of the web page allows you to select the Switching Strategy
Switch Mode for the module from one of the two autonomous modes,
Maintain Primary or Maintain Stability, or the Manual mode. Refer to

Autonomous Mode on page 16

for an overview of how the autonomous

modes work. The Manual control modes are summarized in

Manual

Switching Controls on page 13

.

Select one of the Switch Mode radio buttons to set the Switching Strategy:

Maintain Primary

– switches the Primary input back to the Program

output when it becomes good again in the amount of time set by the
Switchback Delay control. The Switchback Delay control (for Maintain
Primary only) allows the user to set the amount of time (0 to 254 sec-
onds) between switching from the Backup Candidate (Secondary or
Alternate) back to the restored Primary.

Maintain Stability

– maintains the Primary or Secondary input as long as

their signals remain good to provide the most stable signal state.

Manual

– when the Switch Mode selection is set for Manual, the cur-

rently active Program output signal

Force

button will be highlighted on

the Output Control web page (unless the GPI interface is controlling the
Program Output as shown in

Figure 27 on page 64

). Any of the manual

switching controls can be then be used to change the input.

Programmable Outputs Selection

The three output BNC pairs, Output 1.1 and 1.2 (BNC J1 and J3), Output 2.1
and 2.2 (BNC J2 and J4), and Output 3.1 and 3.2 (BNC J6 and J8), can each
be programmed to output any of five signal choices in the input pulldown
for each pair. These outputs are independent of manual control.

The five choices are the following:

Program

Backup Candidate

Primary Input

Secondary Input

Alternate Input
