T1 Timing
Options
To configure the QUAD 2164 timing options, type “T” at the
Configuration Menu and press E NTER . The QUAD 2164 Timing
Options menu appears ( Figure 4-5 ).
NOTE: The Receive clock from shelf option must be set to Yes for all
QUAD/IMUX applications.

Source—If the QUAD 2164 module derives its timing from a circuit element, enter
the slot of the circuit element which will be the timing source. (This includes the
option of setting your QUAD as the timing source for the shelf.)
Select a primary timing source “PC” and also the secondary “SC” and tertiary timing
sources “TC”. The latter two sources provide a backup in case the primary source
fails.
PS Primary Synchronization—Choose one of the following as your primary source for
time synchronization.
• NET 1: Use this option to synchronize timing to T1 port 1.
• NET 2: Use this option to synchronize timing to T1 port 2.
• NET 3: Use this option to synchronize timing to T1 port 3.
• NET 4: Use this option to synchronize timing to T1 port 4.
• INTERNAL: Selects the internal clock as your timing source.
• EXTERNAL: Selects an external clock as your timing source.
