Slip Address

Do not configure SLIP on the QUAD 2164. There is no physical interface on the

QUAD 2164 which supports SLIP. Errors made while configuring SLIP may

lockup the module, requiring factory repair.

Slip Sub-net Mask

Do not configure SLIP on the QUAD 2164. There is no physical interface on the

QUAD 2164 which supports SLIP. Errors made while configuring SLIP may

lockup the module, requiring factory repair.

Trap Addresses

This field displays the SNMP trap IP addresses for each port. To change this

address, type “N” (network parameters), then “Pn” (trap addresses), where n is

the number of the QUAD port. See

Figure 3-7

.

Gateway Address

This field displays the IP address of the node’s gateway. To change this address,

type “N” (network parameters), then “G” (gateway ip address). See

Figure 3-7

.

Read Community

String

This field displays the SNMP community read string state. To change this state,

type “N” (network parameters), then R (SNMP read community string). Sample

strings include NETMGT and PUBLIC. See

Figure 3-7

.

Write Community

String

This field displays the SNMP community write string state. To change this state,

type “N” (network parameters), then “W” (SNMP write community string). Sample

strings include NETMGT and PUBLIC. See

Figure 3-7

.

System Uptime

This field displays the amount of time (in hours, minutes, and seconds) that the

node has been operating. It resets to zero every time the node is rebooted.

Network Parameters—Use this field to change any of the network parameters

displayed on the Administration Menu.

Modem Parameters—Not available with this product.

R

Reset Card—Returns the QUAD 2164 module to its factory default values. Press

Y

to confirm this action.

P

Change Password—Sets privileged and unprivileged passwords. At the Password

Menu, type “P” to set privileged passwords. Type “U” to set unprivileged

passwords. Privileged users have network administrator permissions and can

change all parameters. Unprivileged users have run time access to QUAD 2164

module capabilities, but cannot make changes to parameters.

Q

Query Firmware—Verifies the status of the firmware and memory in the active

partition (A or B). When you type “Q’, the screen reports the version level and

status of the partition firmware and RAM.

Y

Switch Over Once—Switches the active firmware partition (used typically to test

new firmware). At the prompt, select the partition (A or B) to switch to

temporarily. When you reboot the card, the original partition will be used.

O

Switch Over Permanent—Permanently switches the active firmware partition. At

the prompt, select the partition (A or B) to switch to permanently. When you

reboot the card, this new partition is used as the boot partition.

W

write File to Flash—Updates the flash image in the nonactive partition. Requires

overwrite confirmation of the nonactive partition.

B

Change ACP Bus—Changes the ACP communications bus. Reset the card after

the change is made.

X

Main Menu—Return to the main menu.
