Central Site
Summary
This concludes the necessary steps to begin passing data at the
central site. Other actions which would be typical might include
setting a TCP/IP address for management purposes. Please see the
NCM 2000 User Manual
for details on configuring the NCM 2000.
Until now, all of the menu screen shots in this chapter have been
those seen by using the Craft interface of the NCM 2000. The two
remote sites in this example configuration do not feature an NCM
2000. For the balance of this chapter the menus presented and
command examples given will be those obtained by connecting
directly to the Craft interface of the QUAD 2164 module.
Remote Site Configuration
This section details the procedure for configuring a standalone
QUAD/IMUX configuration—one without an NCM 2000. In the
“
” section at the beginning of this chapter the first
remote site was described as consisting of a QUAD 2164 module
and an IMUX 2160 module in a Dual-line shelf. We will configure
that site first.
Login
Follow the procedure given in this chapter in the section
to connect to the node, except connect the Craft cable to
the L
OCAL
port on the QUAD 2164.
