The aggregate data rate from terminal equipment can be up to one

The DIDCSU module provides flexibility for designing data paths
with incoming and outgoing channels set up for data or video
traffic. You can also cross-connect DIDCSU circuits through the
AS2000 midplane to certain other modules. However, an NCM 2000
module is required. Refer to the
NCM 2000 User Manual
for more
information on this feature.
Alarm
Management
DIDCSU 2912 alarms can be viewed using the Craft interface. When
used in conjunction with an NCM, three additional access methods
are available: Telnet, SNMP, or the Verilink proprietary GUI network
management program—Node Manager.
Diagnostics
The DIDCSU 2912 provides line (LLB), data port (DPL), repeater
(RLB), and payload (PLB) loopbacks. Test patterns can be used with
or without the loopbacks.

Programmable
Architecture
All DIDCSU system hardware and software components can be
independently upgraded with product options and firmware
upgrades. The firmware can also be replaced using upgraded chips.
Additional DIDCSU modules can be added within a node to increase
T1/E1 channel capacity. CIMs and other modular components can
be added, upgraded, or replaced independently.
Time Division
Multiplexer
The DIDCSU 2912 accepts
high-speed data from routers, front end
processors, video codecs and other types of data terminal
equipment. It multiplexes this data into some number of 56 kbit/s
or 64 kbit/s DS0 timeslots and either passes them out a network
port, or with an NCM as node controller only, onto a shelf midplane
for connection to another module.
