Configuring the
T1 Port
To access the T1 Port Configuration Menu, enter “P” from the
Configuration Menu.
To change a port configuration, enter the command letter followed
by the port number. For example, to remove Port 2 from service,
command In, enter “
I
2” (n is a variable that represents the port
number).

Frame Format: Choose SF (Superframe) or ESF
(Extended Superframe
Format) as dictated by the type of T1 facility provided. Contact your circuit
provider if the type of T1 framing is not known.
SF format provides traffic signaling and framing. It is sometimes referred to
as D4.
ESF format provides cyclic redundancy check, performance monitoring, data
checking, and link bits (Facilities Data Link, or FDL).
