You do not have to replace the entire account number with As and Es if you only wish to
prompt for partial information (such as the card number and vehicle number, or card number
only). The following are examples, to encode cards that prompt for partial account
information:
Example 1: Prompts for card number only

Manual Entry Card Format
If you have Site Controller I software that is configured to accept Manual Entry cards, you can
encode Manual Entry cards. A Manual Entry card allows the cardholder to enter data into the
transaction file from the ICR. The ICR recognizes the card as a Manual Entry card when three
field separators follow the system ID. A cardholder may have multiple Manual Entry cards
that can be used at different times, each requesting a different type of data. The data for which
the user is prompted depends on the values of the manual entry digits on the card. Each card
may have up to three manual entry digits. The following table shows the manual entry digits
and the data that each digit requests:
