Field Separator - Mag Cards only
Field separators are used on Mag Cards. Field separators appear in various positions on cards.
The number and position of field separators determines the card type. At least one field
separator precedes and follows the account information fields, but they also appear in other
places on the card.
The following table provides information regarding the location of field separators and their
functions:
Account Information Field
The Account Information field is used on the following cards: Standard, Manual Entry, Fuel
Delivery, Supervisor, Dipstick, Totalizer, and Access.
The CFN system provides a 19-character field of account information. This field is commonly
referred to as the Account Number. You can use the entire field as a string, or it can be split
into sub-fields. Decide the arrangement of the field when your system is configured so that
these fields are set when you get your system. This arrangement can be changed only by
adjusting the configuration parameters. Depending on your application, this field can be
arranged using a combination of the card number, employee number, customer account
number, vehicle number, or other fields to suit your needs. For the Access card, the last two
digits are the Attendant number.
Note: If you change your configuration after receiving your system, you will need to modify
your customized card layout and order form received with this manual.
