Telnet Interface
Telnet provides a textual interface over a LAN. Most PCs have the capability to use Telnet. Navigate the
menus in the same manner as when using the Terminal Interface. With specific exceptions as noted in the
Terminal Interface section, the menus available via Telnet and Serial interfaces are identical.
To use Telnet on a Microsoft Windows
®
product, click

. The Run dialog box
opens:
In the
Open:
text window, enter “telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,” where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of
the CMR-6000. If the port number has been modified from the
standard 23
via the Terminal Interface,
then the port number must be appended with a colon to the IP address.
Click
OK
to continue to the login prompt. At the login prompt, enter the user name and password to gain
access to the telnet interface.
Press
IMPORTANT
The default username is “comtech” and the default password is “comtech”, both of which
are case sensitive.
