Purpose

Allows you to direct input and output to a device other than your
computer's standard keyboard and monitor.

Syntax

CTTY device

Remarks

CTTY is used in any situation requiring interaction with an alternate
console.

CAUTION

The CTTY command only affects communication with ROM-

DOS and with programs that work through ROM-DOS for input

and output. For example, if you go into BASIC, CTTY uses

standard keyboard input regardless of previous command

usage.

Examples

CTTY COM2

Sets the device on COM2 as the input/output device.

CTTY CON

Returns control to the standard keyboard.
