Configuration (SIP)
Configuration (SIP)
From the Main Menu, tap SIP and the Configuration tab.
Peer Device
EXFO Device: Select EXFO Device option on both the endpoints (i.e.
Controller side and the Responder side) to run the SIP Network Active
Test.
Other Device (default): Select the Other Device option to run the
service active test. In service active test, the test set can either act as
controller or responder with the other end being the SIP endpoint. By
default, Other Device is selected.
Call Mode
Controller when selected (default) establishes a control
communications channel with the Responder and also sends the
configuration details to the Responder.
Responder: If selected all the other configurations are disabled (only
for Network Active test). In the Service Active test, the configurations
are available at responder side also. The Responder is the endpoint,
which initiates its own stream to the Controller test set.
Communication Channel
TCP selects the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) for the
transmission of the data on the network.
UDP selects the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) for the transmission of
the data on the network.
Note: Communication channel (TCP/UDP) is used for SIP signaling packets only.
Voice data will pass through UDP only even though TCP is selected. SIP
calls over TCP must be routed through a proxy server.
