Installing the Battery Pack
Install Battery Pack BP-511A (supplied) into the camera as follows.
Use the Compact Power Adapter CA-560 (sold separately) to power
the camera for extended periods (p. 189).
z Charge the battery pack before using it for the first time (p. 18).

Check that the power is off (p. 29) and slide the
battery cover in the direction of the arrow.

Insert the battery pack.
z The terminal side of the battery pack should face
downward.
z Insert the battery pack all the way in until the
battery lock clicks. To remove the battery pack,
push the battery lock.

Slide the battery cover closed.
