Cylinder Block
IMPORTANT
Be sure to align the flats on the oil pump
with the flats on the crankshaft gear.
3. Reinstall the timing gear case cover.
4. Reinstall and tighten the gear case cover bolts.
5. Reinstall the crankshaft pulley.
6. Reinstall the washer and bolt. Tighten to the
specified torque. See Special Torque Chart on
page 6-14 for specifications.
Installation of Oil Pan
1. Reinstall the oil pickup tube (Figure 6-100, (1))
and a new O-ring (Figure 6-100, (2)).

2. Apply a continuous bead of ThreeBond Liquid
Gasket No. 1212, Yanmar Part No.
977770-01212 to the mounting surface of the oil
pan (Figure 6-101, (2)) and crankcase
extension (if equipped) (Figure 6-101, (1)). Be
sure to circle each bolt hole.
3. If equipped, reinstall the crankcase extension
(Figure 6-101, (1)). Reinstall the oil pan and
tighten the bolts securely.

Final Assembly of Engine
1. Reinstall the starter motor.
2. Reinstall the cylinder head. See Reassembly of
Cylinder Head on page 6-31.
3. Reinstall the engine in the machine.
4. Reconnect the fuel and coolant lines.
5. Reinstall the alternator.
6. Reconnect and adjust the throttle cable.
7. Reconnect all electrical connections.
8. Fill the engine with oil and coolant.
9. Reconnect the battery cables, negative (-) cable
last.
