PREPARING THE ANSWERING MACHINE
In this section, we are going to describe the preparation of the answering machine.
■ Recording an Outgoing Message (OGM)
■ Setting Up for Receiving Voice-Messages and a Document
(Using as an Answering Machine and a Facsimile)
■ Programming an ATAS ID Number for Remote Operation
■ Programming a Callers’ Recording Time
Recording an Outgoing Message (OGM)
To use the unit as both an answering machine and a facsimile, you should first record your Outgoing
Message.

heard, then release it.
•The IN USE indicator will light.

During ICM playback;
•For Back Space, press D
•For Skip Forward, pressB.
•For ICM Tape Reset, pressQ.
•To save the ICM, hang up after
playback.
•To record a marker message, speak
after hearing 2 beeps.
►When you press a button, press firmly.
After the beep, speak immediately,
clearly and loudly into the microphone,
approximately 8 inches away.
•Recording time is 16 seconds.
•For optimum performance, record the
OGM within 12 seconds.
•Do not pause for over 2 seconds while
recording.
When recording is finished, press
OGM
REC
again.
•The unit will play back the OGM to confirm
your message. Adjust the VOLUME
control to an audible level.
•Verifying your OGM, press OGM PLAY.
The OGM will be played from the
microchip.

OGM Backup
After recording your OGM on the microchip, it will be recorded onto the
tape from the microchip as a backup.
If a power failure takes place or the POWER switch is set to OFF, the OGM
recorded on the microchip will be erased. 7 seconds after the power is restored,
the unit will automatically re-record the OGM onto the microchip using the OGM
recorded on the tape.
