Replacing the Power Distribution Board

The power distribution board routes power from the power supply to the rest of the

server system. Use the following instructions to replace the PDB.

Caution:

Before replacing any board in the TIGW1U server, you must first take the server out of

service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the system, turn off the system by

pressing the power button, and unplug the power cord from the system or wall outlet.

When handling this board, observe safety and ESD precautions. See

Appendix A,

“Safety Information”

for more information.

3.5.5.1

Removing the Power Distribution Board

1. Power down the server system and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power

cable.

2. Remove the chassis cover.
3. Remove the PCI fan air duct.
4. Unscrew the fastening screws. (“A” in

Figure 50

)

5. Disconnect the power interconnect to the SFP board from the power distribution

board (PDB).

6. Gently pull the PDB away from the power supply connector on the server board

(“B”).

7. Lift the PDB from the chassis ("C").

Installing the Power Distribution Board Back into the Chassis

1. Lower the replacement power distribution board (PDB) into place. ("A" in

Figure 51

)

2. Make sure that the PDB is placed over the placement pegs and gently push down.
