Installing Hardware RAID Components
The RAID 5 Kit may include the following components for hardware RAID support:
• Intel
®
RAID Activation Key (required for hardware RAID)
• RAID mini-DIMM (required for hardware RAID)
• Intel
®
RAID Smart Battery (optional; the Smart Battery is only required to back up
the data in the RAID cache in the event of a system power failure)
The hardware RAID 5 components are installed on the SFP board. See
connector locations.
Please refer to the TIGW1U Spares and Configuration Guide for these parts. The RAID
mini-DIMM may also be procured from the list of approved vendors in the Server Board
S5000PHB Tested Memory List at

Note:
The supported RAID levels are 0, 1, 5, and 10.
