4.5.3 QBC Proficiency Tests
Proficiency testing is an external evaluation
of the quality of a laboratory’s performance.
Laboratories enrolled in a proficiency testing
program will receive five unknown samples,
three times a year. These samples are tested
in the same way that patient samples are
tested. The results are submitted to the
proficiency testing program for comparison
to results obtained by other laboratories in
your peer group. Below is a list of proficiency
testing service companies.
