Static Addressing
–
This type of GPRS service supports
Web access. The provider supplies and assigns a
dedicated public IP address to the account, which
enables the user to access the Spider at any time over
the Internet (Refer to Appendix D: Remote Access
Configuration and Quick Start Guide on page 91). Order
SIM cards with static IP addresses from AT&T by
requesting I2GOLD service. However, to obtain a static
IP address through I2GOLD, the user first must have an
account (i.e., wireless number) created and then request
the addition of I2GOLD APN.
While municipalities typically order SIM cards directly through their
AT&T government representative, ADS can assist customers with the
ordering process. However, ADS cannot order or open accounts on
the customers behalf. Please contact ADS Client Services for
assistance, when necessary.
SIM Card Insertion and Removal
Insert the SIM into a Spider as follows:
1. Locate the modem access cover located on the top of the
Spider case, next to the antenna connector. Using a small
Phillips screwdriver, undo the single screw and gently pull out
the cover. The modem inside the Spider will now be visible
through the exposed access slot.
