Other station activities you may perform with Station Manager
You may perform some station activities pre-test or between tests, such as:
•
Check shunt calibration levels
•
Adjust tuning values
You can only perform these activities with the Station Manager application.
Station Configuration Files
Use the Station Manager application to open station configurations
Before you begin to use the MTS TestSuite application to create a test, you must open an existing station
configuration with the Station Manager application. The Station Manager application is included with your
MTS FlexTest controller software.
Note:
If you start the Station Manager application in simulation, new items appear on your PC’s task bar.
These items pertain to the digital supervisor (DSP) functions used to simulate real-time control. Do
not close the DSP functions on your task bar. If you close the DSP functions, the Station Manager
application terminates.
After you have opened your station configuration file with the Station Manager application, you
typically minimize the Station Manager window. This simplifies your PC’s desktop while you build your test
with the TWE application.
Later, when you test your test design on a physical specimen, you typically restore the Station Manager
application to perform tasks such as:
•
Set limit levels and actions for detectors
•
Position the actuator to install the specimen installation
•
Apply offsets
Use the Station Manager application to run tests
An important concept to understand when you run tests with MTS TestSuite software is that the Station
Manager application, which is a component of MTS controller software, always runs in the background.
The Station Manager application hosts the station configuration and performs real-time control.
MTS FlexTest Controller software includes the Station Manager application, which maintains real-time
control of the station, and allows you to perform station activities (for example, to install the specimen).
