16. Remove tapered roller bearing cup (10) and cone (9).
17. Examine cradle bearings (7) to determine if they need
replacement.
REMOVING PINS WILL DAMAGE C RADLE BEARINGS. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE
REPLACEMENT BEARINGS BEFORE REMOVING PINS . NOTE LOCATION AND
ORIENTATION OF BEARINGS FOR R E- INSTALLATION.
18. If c r ad le bearings need replacing , remove two pins (7A)
from cradl e bearings (7). Remove crad l e bearings.
19. Place housing (11) with flange facing up.
20. R emove snap ring (15). Carefully pry out shaft sea l (14). If
you are unable to pull shaft sea l out, try to push sea l out
through inside of housing.
DISASSEMBLE PC/ LS CONTROL
1. Remove four plugs (40) and 0-rings (39). Discard 0-rings.
2. Remove two set screws (43).
NOTE: Spools must be reinstalled in original bores in same direc-
tion as removed. Note orientation of each spool for reinser-
tion.
3. Remove PC spool (41). Remove LS spool (38).
4. Remove adjusting screw (54) and 0-ring (53). Discard O-
ring. Remove outer spring (52), inner spring (51), and
spring guide (50).
5. Remove adjusting screw (49), 0-ring (48) and 2 backup
rings (47). Discard 0-ring and backup rings.
6. Remove outer spring (46), inner spring (45), and spring
guide (44).
