Care and Maintenance of your Rugged Ridge® Power Top
Side Assemblies, Bows, Arms: Regularly clean all side assemblies, bows and arms.
Regularly clean and lubricate all joints with WD-40®.
Hydraulics: The hydraulic motor should operate in an environment void of any liquid,
dirt, dust, etc.
Regularly clean around the hydraulic motor so it can operate in a clean
and appropriate environment. Hydraulic cords must be kept clear of any obstructions.
Hydraulic hoses should not be bent, twisted, pinched, folded, etc. so your Power Top
can function correctly. Keep away any obstructions from your hydraulic cords that may
puncture, cut, slice, etc.
Fabric: To preserve a quality fit, do not keep Power Top in a down and open position for
extended periods of time. When cleaning the Power Top fabric should be washed with
mild soap and warm water with a soft bristled brush. If a rip or tear occurs in the fabric of
your canvas, repairs can be made with Bondex®. On the inside of your canvas iron on
the Bondex® where the rip or tear occurred. For further information read the Bondex®
instructions.
Windows: Do not wash with any type of brush to avoid scratching. Wash windows
with a watered down cloth or sponge.
Do not clean windows while they are dry to
avoid scratching. Be careful cleaning in low temperatures, windows will become more
susceptible to scratching and cracking.
Do not roll up windows in low temperatures
to prevent cracking. Window should be clean when rolled up.
Zippers: Keep zippers clean and lubricated to provide smooth operation. If a zipper
happens to open after you have gone through the process of zipping up your Power
Top, the slider may be defective but repairable. In this case, pull the slider to the end
and open position. Using a pair of pliers carefully clamp down on your slider. Close
your zipper using your previously damaged slider. If problem persists try clamping down
on your slider more firmly then try closing your zipper again.
Snaps: Snaps should be cleaned and lubricated with a silicone based product.
Cleaning prevents snaps from sticking to studs. If a snap happens to stick to a stud
use a screw driver or a similar tool to carefully pry it away to prevent any damage to
your snaps or the canvas fabric.
Water: If water seeping through fabric seams occurs, use 3-M Scotchgard® on the
inside to prevent further seeping. If a rip or tear occurs in the fabric of your canvas,
repairs can be made with Bondex®. On the inside of your canvas iron on the Bondex®
where the rip or tear occurred. For further information read the Bondex® instructions.
