1.16 Install the SFP Module
The Small Form Factor Pluggable modules, which are inserted in the Network Module cards, can be ordered
from your ATI representative. Refer to the ATI Component Specification for more information.
1.17 Service Modules
Note: This procedure can be applied to any SM supported on the 9700 system.
The ATI 9700 can be equipped with service modules. Following are the installation procedures for service mod-
ules.
1.17.1 Install the Service Modules
Service module cards can be placed in any of the following slots: 0-7 (left), and 14-21 (right). It is recommended
that the slots be filled in numerical order 0-7 and then 14-21.
1. Reposition the filler plates as required to expose the specified SM slot.
2. Take the card from its antistatic container.
3. Follow the card installation procedure detailed in section 1.13 .
