Description

Property

The mode of maintaining reallocation table virtual disks for the group’s tasks.
Possible values:

Dirty Regions—The mirror service is keeping track of the virtual disk regions
which the host updated recently, so that, in case of an unexpected host failure,
task synchronization can be restored quickly by handling only the specific re-
gions which might not have been updated on all tasks.

No dirty—The mirror service considers the entire virtual disk as one region.
When the mirror service recovers from an asynchronous event of host failure
and discovers that there is a risk for dirty regions (because the host was using
the group shortly before failure) it starts a process of synchronizing the entire
virtual disk with all the tasks that were normal at the time of failure. If there
was only one task with normal status at the time of failure there is no synchron-
ization. Tasks that had already failed when the host failed are not synchronized.

Dirty Mode

The percentage progress of synchronizing a task when the task is newly created
or when a user performed a Resync on a task after failure.

Viewing synchronous mirror group information

You can display detailed information related to the sync mirror group in the tabs area below the sync
mirror groups list.

To view information related to a sync mirror group:

In the sync mirror groups list, select the sync mirror group. The following tabs are displayed:

Properties—Provides general information about the group, as described in

Table 120

on page 293.

Sync Mirror Task—Displays all sync mirror tasks running on the group.

PiT—Shows the snapshot PiTs created on the sync mirror group.

Host Presentation—Displays information about the hosts that have permission to access the sync
mirror group.

Data Path Module/VSM—When a virtual disk is bootable or used by agents that write data to
the SAN through DPMs, the Data Path Module/VSM tab provides information about the DPMs
and VSM servers that service the virtual disk, and identifies the primary and active servers.

Security—Shows which permissions are assigned to users and user groups for managing the
group.

Persistent Reservation—Shows the status of the persistent reservations of the selected synchronous
mirror group, including the registered initiators.
