When a failure occurs in the primary site A as depicted in Figure 8 (page 35) , Business Continuity
Manager is used to change the former TrueCopy for Mainframe Synchronous secondary site to
the primary site B. When performing the delta resync operation in this situation, the Universal
Replicator for Mainframe pair for the delta resync operation (as shown in
Figure 7 (page 33) ) will
be synchronized and usable.
When you perform the delta resync operation, the journal data in the primary site B is copied to
the Universal Replicator for Mainframe secondary site using journal copy. The journal copy data
is copied in chronological order. Only the journal data that is not yet restored to the secondary
data volume in the Universal Replicator for Mainframe secondary site is copied. When the journal
copy completes, journal restore takes place at the Universal Replicator for Mainframe secondary
site.
