If you enter an incorrect field format, an error message with the appropriate format is displayed.
The following table describes iSCSI boot setting attributes and field formatting.
Description
Setting
iSCSI Boot Configuration
Name used for the iSCSI initiator boot system. The
initiator name length is maximum of 223 characters. If
the initiator name contains nonalphanumeric characters,
it must be enclosed in double quotes. See
for more
information.
Initiator Name (required)
Boot target. The target name length is a maximum of
223 characters. If the name contains nonalphanumeric
characters, it must be enclosed in double quotes.
Target Name (required)
Primary IP address of the iSCSI target. This value is in
dotted-decimal format. For example:
111.222.333.444
Primary IP Address (required)
TCP port associated with the primary target IP address.
The Default value is 3260.
Primary Port (required)
Alternate target IP address used if the primary port is
unavailable.
IP Address 2
TCP port associated with the alternate IP address. The
default value is 3260
Port 2 (required if an alternate target IP address is
specified)
Click Use DHCP to enable the following:
• iSCSIParamDHCP—Allows the iSCSI ROM option to
retrieve iSCSI boot parameters. This attribute default
is set to disable to allow for static configurations.
• DHCP Vendor ID—Required if iSCSIParamDHCP is
set to enable. Used to match the value in the Vendor
Class ID field in the DHCP packet with retrieving
either iSCSI Boot or network parameters. The Vendor
ID field is restricted to 32 characters.
