Login to one of the controllers:

# ssh @

a.

b.

Restart the management controllers by using the command:

# restart mc both

c.

Your SSH connection to the controller gets closed. Wait till you can ping back the
controller.

d.

Retry the flash operation:

# hpsp_fmt –f –c –ci -cu

-cp

Enclosure_HDD flash failed with Error: 0x1A2C

Error Message: Internal error - details: Failed to flash disks: locations>

The issue might be due to a timeout occurrence while flashing a disk that in turn stops flashing the
remaining disks.

Suggested action

1.

Perform a flash recommendation operation using the command:

# hpsp_fmt –fr –c Enclosure_HDD

2.

If any of the Enclosure HDDs’ Proposed Action is UPGRADE or DOWNGRADE, retry the flash
operation until each of the Enclosure HDDs’ Proposed Action is NONE.

Enclosure_HDD flash failed with Error: 0x1011

Error Message: Flash failed for Enclosure_HDD using . Check log files
(/var/log/hp/platform/fmt/firmware.log and /var/cpq/Component.log) for further information.

The issue might be due to some background task running on the P2000 storage controller.

Suggested action

Power cycle the entire capacity block, that is, all storage enclosures. Refer to the Administrator
Guide for the steps and prerequisites to perform the power cycle of storage enclosures.

Any Storage component Flash failed with Error: 0x1040

Error Message: Flash failed for device: : operation timed out; check log file
/var/log/hp/platform/fmt/firmware.log for more information.

FMT timed out while flashing the reported component. In this case, the smart component might still
be working on the flash operation.

Suggested action

1.

Get the smart component filename:
a.

Search for the reported component name in the file:

/etc/opt/hp/platform/firmware/Repository.xml

b.

Get the associated filename from the XML element file-namefilename>

.

2.

Check to see if the smart component is still running by using the command:

# ps –aef | grep

If it is running, wait till completion by periodically checking the above command.
