Setting Up Reserved Slots
Setting Up Reserved Slots
To use the Autoclean function, you can use one of the reserved slots for a cleaning
cartridge.
The Reserved Slots function is on the Configuration options menu.
Configuring Other Options
The Configuration menu includes these options:
Set SCSI
Use this setting to enable or disable the robotics SCSI bus parity checking and
set the SCSI addresses of the drives and the robotics. The defaults are: parity
on; Bus ID = 5; Library Bus ID = 3.
Set Library Mode
Use this setting to set the robotics operating mode to Random or Sequential.
Random mode provides complete server control of the robotics. Sequential
modes are locally controlled. Sequential begins with any cartridge loaded into
LTO1. The tape drive monitors the status of LTO1. When the cartridge is
unloaded by the NonStop server, it loads the next cartridge in magazine
numerical order. This operation continues to cycle until all of the cartridges have
been loaded or until an empty slot is encountered. The default is Sequential.
When you select Sequential LTO1, an additional Sequential mode option
appears that lets you select Normal or Recirculate options. Normal option
operates as described previously. In Recirculate mode, instead of stopping after
the NonStop server has unloaded the cartridge in the last slot, the operation
continues by loading the cartridge in slot 1. Recirculation continues until an
empty slot is encountered. The default for Sequential mode is Normal.
Set Identification
Use this setting to specify the response of the tape drive robotics to the SCSI
Inquiry command in the Vendor ID and the Product ID fields. The defaults are:
Vendor ID = HP; Product ID = N1525A.
Set Date
Use this setting to set the tape drive’s calendar.
Note.
You can use this function only while the tape drive is operating in RANDOM LIBRARY
MODE in conjunction with NonStop server software, such as Auto Cartridge Loader Media
Manager (ACLMM).
