6.7 Cleaning
6.7.1 Metering Unit
The interior of the seed housing must be cleaned and checked at regular in-
tervals for wear of the plastic and rubber parts.Check that all wires and cables
are in good condition. Refer to Section 4.8 and Section 4.9 for instructions on
disassembling the metering system.
Dismantle the rotor and clean it if required. Rotors should always be cleaned
at the end of the season. To remove the rotor, refer to Section 4.9 for informa-
tion on rotor replacement. Undo the two screws holding the rotor together.
Dismantle the rotor and clean each part separately. Do not remove the pulse
washer on the end of the rotor.
When reassembling the rotor, pay particular attention to the orientation of
the rotor rings. Depending on the roller type, the teeth will require a different
configuration.
