6.5 Replacing Components
6.5.1 Memory Module Replacement
The flat bezel panel PC is preinstalled with one 2.0 GB DDR3 memory module. If the
memory module fails, follow the instructions below to replace the memory module.
Step 1:
Follow all anti-static procedures. See Section 6.2.
Step 2:
Turn off the power. See Section 6.3.
Step 3:
Remove the back cover. See Section 6.4.1 above.
Step 4:
Remove the internal back cover. See Section 6.4.2 above.
Step 5:
Locate the DDR3 SO-DIMM on the motherboard.
Step 6:
Remove the DDR3 memory module by pulling both the spring retainer clips
outward from the socket.
Step 7:
Grasp the DDR3 memory module by the edges and carefully pull it out of the
socket.
Step 8:
Install the new DDR3 memory module by pushing it into the socket at an angle
(Figure 6-4).
Step 9:
Gently pull the spring retainer clips of the SO-DIMM socket out and push the
rear of the DDR memory module down (Figure 6-4).
Step 10:
Release the spring retainer clips on the SO-DIMM socket. They clip into place
and secure the DDR memory module in the socket.
