F3: Controller

The F3 function group includes a range of functions that affect how

the PSR-4000 responds to control via the keyboard, a foot controller
plugged into the rear-panel FOOT VOLUME jack, footswitches
plugged into the rear-panel FOOT SW jacks, the [SUSTAIN] button,
the PITCH BEND wheel, and the MODULATION wheel.

VOLUME

Determines whether an optional YAMAHA FC7

Foot Controller plugged into the rear-panel FOOT
VOLUME
jack will control master volume, or only
the volume of specified parts and voices.

Use the

TYPE LCD [/] control to select

VOLUME for master volume control or INDI-
VIDUAL for individual part/voice volume control.

Individual part and voice assignment parameters

for the

M.PAD, ACMP, LEFT, R1, R2, and LEAD

parts are available when the INDIVIDUAL type is
selected. Use the corresponding LCD [/] con-
trols to turn volume control for the corresponding
parts

ON or OFF as required.

NOTES

• Normally you’ll want to be able to apply expression control

to the orchestra voices without affecting the accompani-
ment and rhythm sound, so the INDIVIDUAL type should
be selected and the voices you want to control turned on
while the remaining parts are turned off.

SW1 (FOOTSWITCH 1) &
SW2 (FOOTSWITCH 2)

Determine the functions of footswitches plugged

into the rear-panel FOOT SWITCH 1 and FOOT
SWITCH 2
jacks, and to which of the PSR-4000
voices the footswitches will apply.

Use the

TYPE LCD [/] controls to select one

of the following footswitch functions:
