Modify ping test

properties

To modify a ping test entry:

Select the ping test entry.

Click Modify.

You can edit following parameters:

Target address

, being the host name or IP Address of the ping target.

Data size

, being the size of the data portion to be transmitted in the ping

packets.

Time out

, being the time-out value (in seconds) for the ping.

Probe count

, being the number of times to send the ping packet.

Data fill

, being the data fill pattern of the ping packet.

Frequency

, being the time (in seconds) to wait before repeating the ping.

Max history results

, being the number of ping test results to keep in the

history.

Storage type

, allowing to select whether to store the test results of the

ping test to SpeedTouch™ storage (select Volatile), or not (select Non
Volatile

).

Select or clear whether to send or not to send:

an SNMP Trap generation probe failure if the probe request failed.

an SNMP Trap generation test failure if the test fails.

an SNMP Trap generation test completion if the test completed.

In addition, Type:

Trap probe failure filter

, being the number of successive probe failures

before initiating a Ping Probe Failed SNMP trap message.

Trap test failure filter

, being the number of successive probe failures

before initiating a Ping Probe Failed SNMP trap message.

Select the ping request Probe type:

IcmpEcho

to send ICMP messages

UdpEcho

to send UDP messages

Define following fields:

Description

, to allow to type free comment for future reference.

Source address

, to allow to spoof the source IP address of the ping.

Select a specific Interface if you want to refine the ping to a single
interface. Select None if all interface are allowed to be addressed.

Select ByPassRouteTable if you want to bypass the SpeedTouch™ IP
forwarding and routing tables when issuing the ping.

Differentiated service field

, being the numerical value to store in the

Differentiated Service Field of the IP packet.

Click Apply to apply your changes to the ping test entry.
