TYPE
(Structure Type 1&2, 3&4)

1–10

Determines how Tone 1 and 2, and Tone 3 and 4

The displayed symbols have the following mean-
ings.

B:

Booster,

R:

Ring Modulator

[What is a Booster?]

A Booster amplifies the incoming signal, causing it
to distort. This creates an effect similar to the dis-
tortion often used on an electric guitar.

[What is a Ring Modulator?]

A Ring Modulator mathematically multiplies two
Tones, creating a new sound that includes inhar-
monic overtones that were not present in either of
the two original Tones.
Since the difference in pitch between the two
Tones changes the overtone structure, an un-
pitched “metallic” sound often results. Ring mod-
ulation is therefore especially suitable for creating
bells and other metallic sounds.

BOOSTER
(Booster Gain 1&2, 3&4)

0, +6, +12, +18 dB

Sets the Booster strength when Structure Type has
been set to 3 or 4.
